Dromcollogher situated on the edge of the Golden Vale, 11 miles from Newcastle West and Charleville, has had an exceptional active local community boasting a wide range of services of which any town would be proud off. This includes:
Day Care Centre for Elderly, open 3 days a week and catering for a catchment area of 15 mile radius from Dromcollogher. It is staffed by local FÁS Project Supervised by Ted Bradley.
Respite Care Centre, an unique project, as this is the only Community owned and managed Respite Care Centre in Ireland.

Dromcollogher Voluntary Family Housing Association Limted, these houses have been built with the purpose of providing houses for the young families in the area. Registered office: Cullane & Judge, The Square, Newcastle West, County Limerick
Teddy's Playgroup every morning and providing childcare for upto 20 children.
Community Owned Heritage Centre which did include a Local Training Initiative providing computer training to upskill the local unemployed. It also houses Herny's Coffee Shop and during the evening is used by Community Groups.
