Presently we have a participant who has recently joined the FÁS Project he was getting paid by Social Welfare for himself, his partner and two children which works out at € 372 per week.
On the FÁS Project he would earn € 392 gross but he will be due to pay PRSI and tax.
He has to pay 4 % PRSI on all wages after the first € 127, this works out a € 10.61.
As a single person and paying PAYE he gets tax credits of € 63.46 so he is due to pay € 15.02 tax.
This means he will be paid € 366.36 per week when he works on the FÁS Project.
